There is a known issue in the Collaboratory 2.0 Drive.

When opening a link to a file in Drive, the browser displays the user's homepage in Drive instead of opening the linked file.

The issue is due to a bug in the integration of Seafile (the tool used to implement Collaboratory.drive) with OIDC (user authentication).

The workaround for the time being is either:

  • to open the Drive once before following the link, or
  • to click on the link a second time

The Collaboratory team has mitigated the problem by extending the Drive cookie to the duration of the browser session (max 12 hours).

The latest version of Seafile fixes this issue. Its integration in the Collaboratory is planned for 2020.
